Christopher Agorastos II, 84, of Waikii died May 25 at home. Born in San Mateo, Calif., he owned Waikii Electric. Celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 25, at Pukalani Stables in Waimea. Aloha attire. Stanley Brooks Jr., 73, of Pahala, died May 29 at home. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ka‘u Ward, and was “Santa” for almost two decades at Prince Kuhio Mall and Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu. Kay Kinue Kawazoe, 96, of Hilo died May 15 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Pahoa, she was a retired anthurium nursery co-owner, member of Puna Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association, Hilo Taishoji Soto Mission, Kyu Pahoa Kumiai, Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai and Keaau Senior Retirees Golf Club. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gift). Survived by sons, Brian (Ann Vasconcellos) Kawazoe and Miles (Naomi) Kawazoe of Hilo, Neal (Ruth) Kawazoe of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; brothers, Stanley (Charlotte) Iwata of Las Vegas, Raymond (Jean) Iwata of Pahoa and Ronald (Karen) Iwata of Hilo; sister, Jane (Vic) Kawasaki of Fremont, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Satsuyo Taira and Jane Kawazoe of Hilo; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Luna C. Suria, 87, of Pepeekeo, died Apr. 24 at home. Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a retired factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co., foster grandparent at Kalanianaole School and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. James “Jimmy” Toshio Yagi, 88, of Hilo died June 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was head basketball coach at the University of Hawaii at Hilo from 1975-1987, retired president of Kulana Foods Ltd., member of the Rotary Club of Hilo and U.S. Army veteran.
